In Two Minutes, You Will Be Able to Play Your Ukelele
Low G string on Amazon
01Replace 1 String
When you hold your ukulele in your playing position, the string closest to you is a “High G.” You need to replace that string with a “Low G” ukulele string (sorry). It’s less than five bucks on Amazon.
02Re-tune
Retune your string (starting with the string closest to you) to GBDG.
03Label the frets
When you strum the strings with no fingering, that’s a G chord. Label each fret, from the nut down to the sound hole, as Ab, A, Bb, B, C, Db, D, Eb, E, F, Gb, G.
If you have more frets than that, just ignore those (those chords are really high).
Now you can play all the chords!
If you want to play a chord, just lay your finger across all four strings (at any chord). Boom! You can now play all the chords!
Pro-tip: Get a heavy-duty strap (seven dollars) for your ukelele. It makes playing much easier.
